The Clouds

Join me on a journey to the dawn of humankind. We'll travel, you and I, through the corridors of time, moving through the clouds on the wings of high flight. We'll see the power of a daydream on the edge of the mind, unfolding like sunrise from a golden corner of the sky.
Sunshine beams from cloud-shuttered windows, floating layer upon layer in a glowing theatre of infinite variety. Hues of amber blend to crimson, silver-mantled, like the confident strokes of a master artist fading to purple glory.
The clouds paraded past me, ponderous and brooding, silently assuming evocative forms that shifted from the subtle to the grotesque, from cartoon heroes to birds of prey, to hulking monsters and gossamer tendrils of silk, all waiting to be discovered in a world of shadowed canyons that slowly floated past.
What eyes have seen these wonders that marched before the time of man, a face that turned upward to meet the mute symbolism written in the clouds. A spark of creativity was ignited in that moment in time, smoldering in the mind like a torch to be passed. The human intellect, questioning and aware for the first time, would begin its inevitable journey. Half beast and half god, we strode out of the jungle and reached for the stars.
Look into the clouds and know where it all began.
